Maison Shaps Bourgogne Chardonnay 2016
Our 2016 Bourgogne Chardonnay exhibits a pale yellow color, notes of pear and apple on the nose and a palate that is fresh and round. Grapes are grown in two regions. We prefer the more fruit forward character that derives from the Côte Chalonnaise, blended with the more structured and earthy characters of our vineyards in the Côte de Beaune. The fruit is whole cluster pressed and fermented in both neutral oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. The wine goes through full malolactic fermentation and sur-lie aging and is assembled and bottled late summer the following year. A combination of fruit, length and minerality makes this a great example of Bourgogne chardonnay.
